UN Commission on Sustainable Development & Rio 2012
PERL is participating in the Commission on Sustainable Development meetings in 2010 and 2011 through the Major Groups to promote education for sustainable consumption and responsible living. It is an important opportunity to influence the global policy process as Sustainable Consumption and Production is a current CSD theme.
Rio 2012 is the UN Conference on Sustainable Development. It is sometimes called 'Rio+20' as it will happen in Rio de Janeiro 20 years after the so called 'Earth Summit' in Rio in 1992.

The Commission on Sustainable Development was established by the UN General Assembly in December 1992 to ensure effective follow-up of the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) in Rio de Janeiro.
