PERL Student Video Competition 2012

What is the PERL Video Competion about?
Students* are invited to make a 60 seconds video about sustainable / responsible living. Themes might include:
− Are you concerned about sustainability and responsible lifestyles, and how your own behaviour could have consequences for now and the future?
− The 7 R’s : reduce, reuse, recycle, respect, reflect, repair, and responsibility (Read more about this in the “Resources” section at the end of this document)
− Are you waste smart?
− How can I manage my money?
− How can I be fashionable and ethical on a low budget?
− Can I eat nutritionally correct on a low budget?
These are just examples of themes so get thinking and come up with themes of your own!
Prizes - Winning videos will be
- Screened at the PERL 7th International Conference in Berlin 19-20th March 2012
- Uploaded to the UNESCO Facebook group and the PERL Facebook group
- Promoted to PERL partners in over 100 institutions in more than 40 countries
In addition prize money will be awarded as follows: 1st prize €250, 2nd prize €150, 3rd prize €100.

Please note that:
* - This video competition is opened to full or part time students of all ages who are attending Secondary, Further or Higher Education at the time of submitting their entry
- Entry form to be sent to perl.2011studentfilmcompetition@gmail.com
- Video entry to be uploaded to http://www.youtube.com/user/DESISNETWORK.
- Video entries should focus on an aspect of sustainable / responsible living aimed at one of the following audiences:
● 3-6 year olds
● 7-12 year olds
● 13-16 year olds
● 17 + year olds
Competition Rules – Rule 4 “Entry Criteria”
All films must meet the following requirements and specifications to be eligible for entry:
- Films must be based around the theme of sustainable living / responsible living and
deal with an aspect of the overall theme: Are you concerned about sustaibability and responsible lifestyles and how your behaviour could have consequences for now and the future?
- Films must be a maximum of 60 seconds running time, including titles and credits
- No talk/dialogue is permitted, however sound effects, music etc is acceptable. Films must be capable of being understood by audiences who speak different languages
- Films can be submitted by individuals or groups (all members of the group must be students)
- More than one entry can be submitted by an individual or group
- PERL reserves the right to refuse any entry to its competition, at its own discretion
- Films must not show any branding, labels or hidden advertising
- Entries must not contain obscene, unlawful or objectionable material and must not contain any sexually explicit, disparaging, libellous or other inappropriate content
