Second Network meeting - San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, 17-20 January 2011
Meeting aims
The meeting aimed to review developments and actions done by national partners during the second semester of 2010 and to plan further Network initiatives and projects for the period 2011-2012.
In addition, this second Network meeting aimed to integrate the work done by the Mexican Network “Ciudad EsSemilla” since its creation in 2009, and to develop means of collaboration among all participating countries and organizations and replicating relevant educational experiences, such as “the Virtual Schools for Sustainable Consumption”.
Plans for the meeting and for activities in 2011 were:
- A planning process and a working strategy for future network activities on sustainable consumption and education for responsible living, discussed and agreed by partners during the meeting.
- A systematization of relevant educational materials and experiences developed by CCN, PERL and the UN Marrakech Process Task Forces on Sustainable Lifestyles and Education for Sustainable Consumption.
- The elaboration of a new “Virtual Schools for Sustainable Consumption” on international processes, education for sustainable living and citizens’ participation.
- A set of national maps of relevant institutional and regulatory frameworks and initiatives taking place in the field of sustainable consumption and education for sustainable living in of all network countries, including Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico and Peru.
- A set of workshop proposals to be held during the second semester of 2011, systematized and agreed by partners during the meeting.
